Miss Samantha West (Brick Memorial Student Assistance Counselor \/ Anti-Bullying Specialist) and Mr. Kevin Mosely (District Anti-Bullying Special) have big plans for Brick Memorials <\/span>Week of Respect<\/span><\/i> . This is Miss West\u2019s first year hosting Week of Respect.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWeek of Respect is observed as part of the anti-bullying bill of rights,\u201d Miss Wests explains. All New Jersey school Districts hold the Week of Respect. \u201cThe purpose of Week of Respect is to recognize the importance of building a safe and comfortable school environment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n On Monday October 3, students will wear yellow, \u201cthe color of respect,\u201d and during their first block classes, teachers will to play an anti-bullying video called <\/span>Red<\/span><\/i><\/a>,<\/span> as well as hear a recorded message from the superintendent, Dr. Thomas Farrell. On Tuesday, October 4, there is an assembly hosted by Miss West during fourth block. Teachers who signed up will take their students down to listen about why we honor Week of Respect and Red Ribbon Week which is the last week of October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Miss West explains, \u201cWe\u2019re combining the two to create a safe supportive school environment and talk about\u00a0 the growing substance abuse issues in teens.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On Tuesday and Thursday, School Based will be hosting pledges during A and C lunch, where students can sign-up to do their part and show respect throughout the week and hopefully the entire school year. On Thursday, there will also be a video and activity supporting the new PBSIS initiative in schools. Teachers will be asking students to define respect.<\/span><\/p>\n Finally, Friday, October 7, 2022, Mr. Mosely will say a speech to close out Brick Memorials Week of Respect, summarizing the week. We hope that students have an amazing spirit week and Week of Respect. It\u2019s a great WEEK to be a Mustang!<\/span><\/p>\n
