Brick Memorial High School Senior Dylan Terry Receives Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Unsung Hero Award<\/b><\/p>\n

Brick Memorial High School is proud to announce that senior Dylan Terry has been named a recipient of the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Unsung Hero Award. This prestigious honor recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional character, resilience, and a commitment to positively impacting their school community despite facing personal adversities.<\/p>\n

Dylan was recognized during a ceremony celebrating his journey from personal struggle to purposeful leadership. Known throughout the halls of Brick Memorial as a personable, friendly, and outgoing young man, Dylan has become a symbol of the “Mustang” spirit through his unwavering kindness and compassion for others.<\/p>\n

“Dylan\u2019s resilience, character, and ability to positively impact others make his recognition incredibly well deserved,” school principal Edward Sarluca shared. “We are extremely proud of him and grateful to have him as part of our Mustang family.”<\/p>\n

Dylan has been open about his personal battles with depression and loneliness, choosing to use his experiences as motivation to ensure that no other student feels invisible or without hope. He lives by the principle that being a Mustang means “to be the best version of yourself every single day and to help others be the best version of themselves.”<\/p>\n

\"\"His commitment to others has been evidenced through several selfless acts within the school community. During a recent school pep rally, Dylan instinctively stepped forward to support a student with special needs in front of the entire student body. Additionally, at a football banquet attended by hundreds of teammates and families, Dylan courageously shared his own story to encourage others to seek help and practice inclusion.<\/p>\n

Through his vulnerability and leadership, Dylan has become a powerful voice for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. He is celebrated not just for his academic or athletic contributions but also for the heart and integrity he brings to Brick Memorial every day.<\/p>\n

The Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Unsung Hero Award highlights those who change lives for the better through humility and perseverance.
