It’s never easy to say good-bye to a enjoyable summer, but the teachers at Brick Memorial High School know the best way to start a September!\u00a0 For the first three days of the month, teachers and staff of BMHS were led by the administration to tackle various topics such as “challenging questions in the classroom,” “Social Emotional Learning strategies,” and “looking at the whole student.”<\/p>\n
Teachers were inspired with a visit from our district teacher of the year, Joann Betancourt, who spoke beautifully about avoiding judgments in the classroom and understanding that every child learns differently.\u00a0 It’s through these ideas that teachers will be able to reach students, especially those who may be nervous about returning to the classroom after last year.<\/p>\n
Teachers were given words of wisdom from our superintendent, Dr. Thomas Farrell, who spoke to them about the importance of our district motto: “Student Centered.
