24-25 Student Drop-Off and Pickup Procedures

All Drum Point Road Elementary School students are assigned a bus for transportation to and from school. Students are urged to use the district provided transportation services. In the event that your child needs to be dropped off in the morning or picked up at the conclusion of the school day, please follow the guidelines below. Student safety is our primary concern. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Morning Drop-Off:    MAP

  • Students who are transported to school in the morning may NOT arrive any earlier than 8:25 a.m. as there is no supervision provided for the care and safety of your children prior to this time.
  • If you are dropping off children on time in the morning, please enter the driveway between Drum Point Road and Emma Havens Young Elementary Schools. Follow the traffic pattern present in the school parking lot, looping around to take the first left, and parking in the parking lane closest to Drum Point Road School.
  • No earlier than 8:25 am, please escort your child to the crosswalk near the back hallway entrance of the building. (Door #10A ). A supervising adult will be present to greet the children and assist them with crossing to the sidewalk. For safety reasons, students should not be dropped off in any other area.
  • Students arriving at or after 8:35 must be escorted by an adult to the main office to sign in and receive a late pass. Kindly park your car in a legal parking space and enter the building through the main entrance so we may assist you. Handicapped parking spaces are not to be used for pick-up or drop-off unless the appropriate state-issued handicapped identification is visible.

Afternoon Pick-up:    MAP

  • Parents picking up children at the end of the school day should park in the Emma Havens Young parking lot and report to the designated pick-up doorway #7 behind the All Purpose
Room, to sign them out, beginning at 2:55 pm. Please be prompt.
  • Parents/Guardians are reminded to have photo identification ready for presentation during sign-out procedures.
  • If someone other than a parent is picking up the child, a note signed by the custodial parent MUST be sent in with the child that day. Under no circumstances will we release a child to anyone other than a parent/guardian without notification from you. That designee must be listed on the Emergency Contact List and be 18 years of age or older.
