This unit of learning allows our kiddos to use make-believe play to explore the many roles and actions associated with a variety of restaurants we find in our town! Our classrooms have transformed into different restaurants from around town, such as a pizza parlor, sit-down restaurant, Jersey Mikes, Dunkin Donuts, and even a McDonalds, complete with a drive-through window! Our students created props for each of these areas and can use them to enhance their make-believe play. There are waiters and waitresses taking orders in the restaurant, sub sandwiches being made at Jersey Mikes, and fries for everyone in the drive-through! All of these activities allow our students to use imaginative play, enhance language development, and work on cooperation, turn-taking, and sharing!
