Dear Lanes Mill Families,
I hope this letter finds you well rested after a wonderful summer! My name is Gerri Bayles, and I am truly honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Lanes Mill Elementary School. It is with great excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I return to lead this incredible school community.
As an educator with 33 years of experience in public education, I am committed to ensuring that every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. At the heart of every school community is a strong partnership between educators, families, and community members. When we come together with a shared vision and mutual respect, we create powerful opportunities for children to grow, learn, and succeed.
Collaboration ensures that every child is supported not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. By working together—sharing insights, aligning goals, and embracing diverse perspectives—we build a network of care that surrounds each child with the encouragement, compassion, and resources they need to be successful.
True partnership means open communication, active involvement, and a commitment to one another. Whether it’s through classroom volunteering, parent-teacher conferences, community programs, or school events, every moment of connection strengthens the foundation we build for our children’s futures.
Together, we can inspire a generation of confident, capable, and compassionate learners. Because when we collaborate and partner with purpose, children thrive.
The first days of school are always filled with energy and anticipation, and I look forward to meeting you and your children during drop-off, pick-up, school events, and in the classroom. Please know that my door is always open—I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback as we move forward to ensure that your child’s elementary experience is filled with countless opportunities.

Our dedicated teachers and staff continue to work hard preparing for an engaging, safe, and supportive school year. Together, we will create a positive and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to explore, grow, and succeed.
