LRMS Character Education Mission Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lake Riviera Middle School “Aims for Excellence” through Character Education, by endeavoring to create a caring environment for students, staff, parents, and community members. We will strive to respect and understand individual differences, as we create a positive moral culture through collaborative efforts.<\/p>\n

The values we infuse into our educational setting are among the most universally accepted in a democratic society and include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, and caring.\u00a0 The impetus and focus of the Character Education program will continue to be on adult modeling, curriculum integration, and parent\/community involvement.<\/p>\n

To create a positive moral culture in the school including cognitive, emotional and behavioral aspects, the Lake Riviera Middle School Community of\u00a0Learners will engage in a variety of activities:<\/p>\n

  1. Infusion into the curriculum: via materials, classroom based activities and school\u00a0wide activities such as assemblies.<\/li>\n
  2. Blending Character Education, Growth Mindset, and Social & Emotional Learning:\u00a0educating our Lakers of their unlimited potential rooted in the Pillars of Character Education; understand and manage their emotions in order to develop positive relationships and make responsible decisions.<\/li>\n
  3. Development of a Leadership Council: consists of staff, parents, community members and student leaders.<\/li>\n
  4. Recognition for Demonstrating Good Character:\u00a0Laker Leaders (monthly values)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The following is taken directly\u00a0from the LRMS Character Education CUrriculum revised 2008.<\/p>\n

    Through this curriculum it is our intention to reflect upon and improve our mission objective and ground rules for infusing a character education program at Lake Riviera Middle School.\u00a0\u00a0This curriculum endeavors to:<\/p>\n
