VMMS was proud to honor our December Mustangs of the month. Every month, the VMMS staff is able to nominate staff and students from VMMS who exemplify the true character of a Mustang. Below are the individuals who have been chosen and what others have written about them. DECEMBER MUSTANGS OF THE MONTH:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grade 6: <\/strong>Colton Quinn:<\/b><\/p>\n

Colton goes out of his way to be helpful not only to his classmates but also around the classroom ensuring that materials are put away and everyone has what they need. He looks out for others, takes pride in his work, and helps out whenever needed. He shows great maturity as a 6th grader and I know he will continue to find success!<\/div>\n

Grade 7: <\/strong><\/strong>Alyssa Desiderio:<\/b><\/div>\n
\n
Alyssa is a kind, honest, and hardworking student. Alyssa’s recently has faced adversity and she continues to come to school every day, maintains good grades and has a smile on her face. Alyssa is a friend to all students and her teachers have wonderful things to say about her. She is the definition of resilient and a fighter. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know her recentlyand she is truly one of the sweetest students at VMMS. She deserves to be recognized!<\/div>\n

Grade 8: <\/strong><\/strong>Teegan Brennan:<\/b><\/p>\n

Tegan is always willing to step-up to help make Vets Middle a better place for all the students and staff.\u00a0 She volunteers her time by taking on leadership roles in both the Student Council and NJHS.\u00a0 She is also part of the team of artists working on murals around our school.\u00a0 In all of her academics, \u00a0from the big to small tasks, you can count on her to give insightful responses that show depth of understanding and maximum effort.\u00a0 VMMS is very lucky to have her.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Support Staff: <\/strong>Barbara Favato<\/b><\/p>\n

\n
For being Barbara – the most selfless, thoughtful, helpful, generous, kindest person we have at VMMS. This month alone she took on the guidance part of helping with the Thanksgiving baskets by herself.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Barbara has been working so hard during the holidays to provide food and gifts to families in need at VMMS. She has gone above and beyond for all families during the holiday season while also providing endless support to her students and NEVER once complained. She does not ask for recognition for anything and I truly think she should be recognized for her efforts since taking over as the homeless liaison three years ago.<\/div>\n
There is not enough space in any document to describe the reasons why Barbara should basically be nominated for mustang of the month every month. However, for December, I nominated her because of how much she went above and beyond to make sure that our families in need received a turkey and side dishes for Thanksgiving and gifts for Christmas. She took her time from her very busy life to go buy turkeys and made sure everybody got one. She made phone calls and went shopping for gifts. She is always looking out for any student in need. In addition, she continued to do her job as a school counselor, a great coworker she is and is even covering one period for an ICR teacher. She is truly the definition of selflessness, generosity and kindness.<\/div>\n

Teacher: <\/strong><\/strong>Jen Madere<\/b><\/p>\n

Jen is the best.\u00a0 Takes care of our team with loaners, and is always willing to help any of us if we need her.\u00a0 Always pleasant and funny!!!! Just a fun person to work with.<\/div>\n
