SCHOOL HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Brick Township High School (BTHS), located at 346 Chambersbridge Rd in Brick Township, New Jersey, has been a cornerstone of the community since its founding in 1958. As a comprehensive public high school, serving students in grades 9 through 12, BTHS offers students a robust Program of Studies, STEM Academy, 23 Advanced Placement courses, 28 varsity athletic programs, and more than 40 co‑curricular clubs and activities. BTHS is proudly represented by its iconic Green Dragon mascot, symbolizing strength, tradition, and school pride.

Since the school’s opening, BTHS has built a rich legacy in both academics and athletics. The school is renowned for its storied football program, which captured multiple state championships under legendary coach Warren H. Wolf. It is equally acclaimed for its powerhouse ice hockey program, which secured numerous state titles and produced collegiate and professional athletes under Hall of Fame coach Bob Auriemma. Additionally, highly competitive teams in bowling, baseball, swimming, basketball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and other sports contribute to BTHS’s athletic excellence. The performing arts flourish with award-winning band and choir programs, a dynamic drama department, and a celebrated color guard, all performing at local, regional, and national levels.

Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school climate, BTHS implements Positive Behavior Support in Schools (PBSIS) to reinforce its updated core values: Tradition, Pride, Acceptance, Integrity, and Respect. Significant facility upgrades in 2015 improved climate control and infrastructure, while a large solar array installed in 2022 reduced energy costs to one-tenth of traditional rates. In recognition of its commitment to environmental responsibility, BTHS earned Bronze Level Sustainability Certification through Sustainable Jersey for Schools, underscoring its dedication to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

Brick Township High School’s long standing commitment to academic excellence, athletic excellence, artistic achievement, and community engagement continues to shape a rich legacy, anchored in tradition and pride since 1958. BTHS is committed to inspiring and empowering our students with access and opportunity to achieve personal growth towards a lifetime of success.
