Brick Memorial High School Celebrates Outstanding Educators of the Year

Brick Memorial High School is thrilled to announce the recipients of two prestigious honors for the 2023-2024 academic year: The Governor’s Educator Teacher of the Year and The Educational Services Professional of the Year. This year, we proudly recognize Mrs. Jacqueline Castellano and Mrs. Amanda Agiovlasitis for their exceptional contributions to our school community.

Governor’s Educator Teacher of the Year: Jacqueline Castellano

Mrs. Jacqueline Castellano has been an inspiring force within Brick Memorial’s science department for many years. Known for her innovative teaching methods and unwavering dedication to her students, Mrs. Castellano transcends the role of a traditional educator. From leading advanced courses like AP Biology and STEM Academy to mentoring future medical professionals through the Pre-Med Club, she has continuously enriched the educational experience for all Mustangs.

Mrs. Castellano’s commitment extends beyond the classroom. Whether developing creative labs, collaborating with colleagues, or chaperoning student events, her presence is a beacon of positivity and professionalism. Her ability to inspire intellectual curiosity and cultivate meaningful relationships with her students and alumni has left an indelible mark on the Brick Memorial community.

Educational Services Professional of the Year: Amanda Agiovlasitis

As an academic interventionist, Mrs. Amanda Agiovlasitis embodies the essence of support and compassion for Brick Memorial’s students and staff. She goes above and beyond her role to ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and valued. Mrs. Agiovlasitis develops tailored academic strategies, connects with families to foster communication, and provides a safe space for students who need extra guidance.

Her dedication to nurturing not just academic success but also emotional well-being has made her a trusted mentor and advocate within the school. Many students regard her as a “safe haven” and a guiding force, crediting her with helping them overcome obstacles both in and out of the classroom.
