Brick Memorial’s Jason Lajara Selected for 48th Phil Simms North-South All-Star Football Classic

Brick Memorial High School is proud to announce that senior quarterback Jason Lajara was selected to participate in the prestigious Phil Simms New Jersey North v. South All-Star Football Classic, one of the state’s premier showcases for graduating football players.

The annual event brings together the top senior athletes from across New Jersey, dividing them into “North” and “South” teams to highlight the very best talent the state has to offer. Named in honor of Phil Simms, the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback of the New York Giants, the game has a long-standing tradition of celebrating excellence, sportsmanship, and statewide pride since its founding in the late 1970s.

Jason’s selection is a testament to an extraordinary high school career that has placed him among the elite players in New Jersey. As a starting quarterback, he compiled an impressive 19-5 record, leading the Mustangs to a 2025 Central Jersey Group 4 Championship, while also earning recognition as a two-time sectional finalist and division champion.

Individually, Jason’s accolades are equally remarkable. He was named First Team All-State, earned two All-State Group 4 selections, and was a two-time First Team All-Shore honoree, highlighted by being named the 2025 Shore Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He also received two All-Division selections during his career.

Jason leaves behind a lasting legacy at Brick Memorial, holding program records for most passing yards and most passing touchdowns in both a single season and a career. He also set the mark for highest completion percentage in both a single season and over the course of his career.

In addition to his selection for the Phil Simms All-Star Classic, Jason was honored and recognized today by the New Jersey Army National Guard for his selection to the All-State game being played this summer, further highlighting the significance of his accomplishments.

Athletic Director Jimmy Bright praised Jason’s achievement, stating, “Jason represents everything we hope for in a student-athlete. His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence have set a standard for our program. Being selected for this game is a tremendous honor, and we are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished at Brick Memorial.”

Brick Memorial High School congratulates Jason on this incredible honor. His selection to the Phil Simms All-Star Classic reflects not only his talent and dedication but also the proud tradition of Mustang football. It was truuly a great day to be a Mustang!
