Brick Memorial and Donovan Catholic Volleyball Teams Unite for 14th Annual Dig Pink Match Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness
In volleyball, a “side out” means regaining control of the serve, and for the Side Out Foundation, it means helping people with breast cancer regain control of their lives. On Saturday, Brick Memorial High School and Donovan Catholic High School continued their long-standing October tradition by joining forces for the 14th Annual Dig Pink Match, a joint event supporting the Side Out Foundation’s national 2025 Dig Pink campaign.
Throughout the morning, the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams from both schools competed in A South matches while fans, families, and friends filled the stands in a spirited show of support. The gym buzzed with excitement as spectators participated in raffles, games, and snack sales, with all proceeds donated directly to the cause.
Between the JV and Varsity matches, both teams came together for a heartfelt ceremony honoring Warriors and Survivors of breast cancer. Players from both sides lined the court to present flowers to survivors and family members, followed by a moment of silence to reflect and remember those impacted by the disease.
This year, the Brick Memorial volleyball players and parents went above and beyond, collecting and organizing more than 50 raffle baskets generously donated by local businesses including Lenny’s Colonial Ranch Market, Balance Wellness Center, AccuCare Physical Therapy, Silton Swim School, Windward Tavern, Waypoint 622, Divi Tree Coffee, and Sunshine Daydream Boutique, among many others.
All funds raised from Brick Memorial’s 2025 Dig Pink campaign will directly support the Side Out Foundation’s mission to unite volleyball players and coaches nationwide in promoting breast cancer awareness, education, and patient services.
Missed the match? You can still make an impact by donating directly to Brick Memorial’s 2025 Dig Pink Campaign through the Side Out Foundation’s website.
Next year’s event will be hosted by Donovan Catholic, with the Dig Pink Match returning to Brick Memorial in 2027. This inspiring tradition continues to bring the community together both on and off the court, a true reminder that when Mustangs and Griffins rally for a cause, everyone wins.
It’s always a great day to be a Mustang, especially when we’re making a difference.
