Brick Memorial High School Chorus Honors Veterans Through Song at Winding River Village Veterans’ Day Breakfast

The Brick Memorial High School Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Kevin Bettys, recently took part in Winding River Village’s annual Veterans’ Day Breakfast, a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served our nation.

Veterans from conflicts ranging from current deployments to World War II, along with their families, were treated to breakfast and individually recognized for their service. The event also featured the unveiling of Winding River’s new Military Wall of Fame, a permanent display honoring those who have dedicated their lives to the defense of our country.

The Brick Memorial Chorus performed moving renditions of “America the Beautiful” and “My Country Tis of Thee,” closing the program with “Mansions of the Lord” from the film We Were Soldiers, directed by Mel Gibson. The music, paired with tributes to both living and fallen heroes, including those recently deceased and those still missing in action, made for a profoundly emotional and memorable morning.

The Brick Memorial community is proud of its students for using their voices to honor our nation’s heroes and for representing the Mustang spirit with such dignity and respect.
