BMHS Junior Sophie Daly Wins Second Place in Asbury Park Press Student Voices Essay Contest

Brick Memorial High School is proud to announce that junior Sophie Daly has won second place in the prestigious Asbury Park Student Voices Essay Contest. The contest, open to students in grades 7 through 12 from Monmouth and Ocean Counties, is hosted by the Asbury Park Press and aims to provide a platform for young voices to express their opinions on topics of interest and importance.

Sophie Daly’s essay, submitted by her teacher Mrs. Bridget Petrulla, impressed the judges with its creativity, strong opening and closing paragraphs, compelling narrative, and impeccable grammar and spelling. The essay, titled “Do you think humans will ever live on Mars? Why or why not?” explored the possibility of human habitation on Mars, showcasing Sophie’s critical thinking and writing skills.

“I am incredibly proud of Sophie for her achievement in the Asbury Park Student Voices Essay Contest,” said Mrs. Bridget Petrulla. “Her dedication to crafting a thoughtful and well-written essay is truly commendable. This recognition is well-deserved, and I am excited to see her essay published in the Asbury Park Press.”
