The 2023 season will be a season to remember for star gymnast Liberty Kenney ’26 and the Brick Memorial Gymnastics team. Led by coach Melissa Voskian, the team finished 10-2 and made an appearance in the Shore Conference Tournament. Individually, Kenney added to the incredible season by achieving personal bests and making the NJSIAA Individual Championships.

Kenney was able to achieve multiple scores over 9 in events that included high beam and floor exercise, these scores were highlighted by a personal best 9.55 score on the high beam. Her high scores allowed her to punch a ticket to an important personal goal for herself, the NJSIAA Individual Championships. She was able to achieve a 33.55 score in the competition and will surely be back again next year, looking to build on her success this season. Facing no outside challenges or adversities, Kenney was able to focus on her gymnastics and achieve her accomplishments this season. Kenney, a sophomore, looks forward to continuing her career through the next two years of high school and then into college.

Making the Shore Conference Tournament was an achievement for the team after working hard to finish with a 10–2 record. Impressive victories this season included them defeating Toms River North with a team-best score of 106.275 and beating 5-2 Southern 101.975 to 97.625. The team finished the Shore Conference Tournament with a score of 102.425 and fell short of winning the competition, but after such a successful season, this is just the beginning and next season will bring plenty more excitement around the team.
