Mustang Players Present Matilda: The Musical
Story by Riley Kindler ’24

Brick Memorial High School is proud of the new production of Matilda, presented by the talented Brick Memorial Mustang Players. This musical adaptation, based on Roald Dahl’s beloved book, brings to life the story of Matilda, a remarkably intelligent young girl, and her journey through challenges and triumphs.

Directed by Ms. Jessica O’Brien, celebrating her 20th production at Brick Memorial High School, with Mr. Mark McGill joining for the first time as Musical Director, and Dr. Mike Fitzgerald as Technical Director, the show promises to be a showcase of the students’ exceptional talents. Featuring multiple lively dance numbers, comedic moments, and touching solos, Matilda is the Mustang Players’ second musical and third production of the year, following the successful performances of Mean Girls and Women of Lockerbie.

The cast includes Ava Hansen in the titular role, Kye Moraghan as Miss Honey, and Jakub Kriso as the formidable Miss Trunchbull. The production will run from this weekend through April 14, with shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:00 p.m., and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.

The excitement for Matilda has already begun, with 500 students getting a preview during Thursday’s fourth block, where they were captivated by the outstanding performances, as well as a packed opening night of cheering fans!
