Athletics & Co-Curricular Update

** Athletic Events that took place between 9/1 & 9/18 **

Athletics at Brick Township High School got underway this year during labor day weekend with the Brick Township Football team going to Toms River High School South for the opening game of the season. The Green Dragons came from behind with two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to win the game 21-14. In the game against Howell on September 17th, Senior Brendan Bukowski scored an Honorary touchdown on the first play of the game for the Dragon’s home opener. The football team, with a record of 2-1, will take on their cross town rival, Brick Memorial on Saturday, September 25th at Noon. The Girls Cross Country team is excited to compete in the Battle at Ocean County Park on Friday, September 17!  This will be our first big race and our team is ready to run fast!  Our senior runners leading the team this season are Samantha Nazario and Olivia Gioberti. The girls are very excited for this year as they are ready to compete after a summer of training. The Girls Soccer team (1-4) have been battling all season with numerous close games which unfortunately did not go their way. Despite unfortunate outcomes, the team has a positive attitude and is looking forward to their game against cross town rival, Brick Memorial on Tuesday, September 21st at Brick Memorial with a 6:30pm start. The Girls Soccer Team also has their Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser currently running through 9/24. The Girls Volleyball team (0-4) has been competitive in a very tough and deep A-South division and is looking forward to their matches against Brick Memorial and Southern Regional. Coach Puglisi is very proud of how close the girls have become during the year so far as they continue to show improvement.

 

Class of 2022

The Class of 2022 is advised by Mrs. Freedley and Mrs. Mustacchio. Their goal is to give the seniors a sense of belonging at BTHS after a very unusual year and half. Their class meetings take place on a weekly basis and the specific days vary. Please see Mrs. Freedley or Mrs. Mustacchio for more information on specific meeting days. Any seniors can and are encouraged to join. The class leadership positions and names are: Diana Huener – President, Abbey Colon – Vice President, Grace Hermance – Secretary, Skylar Piscope – Treasurer. Class elections take place later this month as the students are excited to see how the election unfolds. The Senior Class is looking forward to their fundraisers this year, which include catalog sales, a car wash, and  clothing sales.
