Athletics Update

 

** Athletic Events that took place between 12/1 & 1/2 **

The Girls Swim Team is led by our senior captains Kaitlyn Goldsmith, Courtney Keizer, and Amanda Mology.  The team has made huge improvements in their times during our first few swim meets and will continue to find success in the new year!  Congratulations to Amanda Mology for qualifying for Shore Conference in the following events: 200 Free, 200 IM, 100 Fly, 500 Free.  Our Senior Meet will take place on January 16th at Neptune Aquatic Center against Brick Memorial and it will be a very competitive night!  Ocean County Championships are on January 22 at the Ocean County YMCA and Shore Conference will be on January 29th at Neptune Aquatic Center.  The Boys Swim Team is led by senior captains Richmond Coombs, Johnny Gardner, and Brendan Kalp.  The team defeated Neptune by a score of 76-73 to earn their first win of the season on 12/16! Each member of the team plays a key factor and is improving week in and week out through hard work and dedication to the program.  Congratulations to Asher Cloupe for qualifying in multiple events for the Shore Conference Tournament! Brick’s Senior Meet is on January 16th at the NAC against crosstown rival Brick Memorial.  Ocean County Championships are on January 22 at the Ocean County YMCA and Shore Conference will be on January 29th at Neptune Aquatic Center.  The team currently holds a record of 1-3. The Girls Bowling Team placed 6th in the Roll with the Indians Tournament. This was a huge accomplishment because the team had to qualify to get into the finals which was a highly competitive field. The team’s record is currently 13 wins and 17 losses. The Boys Bowling Team are making their way through the season with success as they have a record of 18 wins and 12 losses. Recently, the Dragons beat Division leading Brick Memorial 2-1. Due to quarantines, the Dragons started the year on a slow pace, however the team now is getting healthy and making a push for State Sectionals. The team is being led by Senior captains Blaise Harrington and Nicholas Koval, who have two of the highest averages in A South.
