Brick Memorial Mock Trial Continues Winning Streak, Advances to Regional Finals!

The Brick Memorial High School Mock Trial team is unstoppable! Fresh off their Ocean County Championship victory, the team delivered another dominant performance at the Southern Regional Competition on February 26, securing their place in the Regional Finals on March 12!  They are just one step away from the State Championship.

The Mustangs proved their legal prowess once again, winning both rounds in decisive fashion. In Round 1, the Ocean County Defense team, led by lawyers Sophie Daly (12th) and Tatyana Williams (10th), defeated Salem County with strong arguments and a commanding presence in the courtroom. Their witnesses, Jakub Kriso (12th) as W. Pat O’Connell, Lilah Breen (10th) as Val Popinjay, and Eva Caravassilis (12th) as Sam Stone, delivered compelling testimony that strengthened their case.

In Round 2, the Ocean County Plaintiff team faced off against Cape May County, the defending 2024 State Champions, and handed them a stunning defeat. Katie Andras (12th) and Sofia Salsa (10th) led the charge as plaintiff lawyers, skillfully presenting their case with precision and confidence. Their witnesses,Nate Devlin (12th) as Carmen Capella, Miranda Maneiro (9th) as Jamison St. Clair, and Jude Smith (12th) as Dr. Alexi Delani, delivered convincing and well-prepared testimony that helped secure the victory.

Led by their dedicated advisor, Diana Corde-Leone, the team has continued to impress with their courtroom presence, strategic thinking, and ability to adapt under pressure. With this latest success, they now set their sights on the Regional Finals on March 12, where they will fight for a spot in the New Jersey State Championship.
