Family Theme has started! This unit of learning allows our kiddos to use make-believe play to explore the many roles and actions associated with families. Our classrooms have transformed into different rooms you will see within their homes, including the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, family room, and maybe even the backyard! Our students created props for each of these areas and are able to use these props to enhance their make-believe play. You may find a “dad” reading a good night story to a baby in the bedroom, grandma playing a board game with her grandchildren in the family room, mom grilling hamburgers in the backyard, or little sister brushing her teeth in the bathroom! Through all of these activities, we are able to foster imaginative play, language development, cooperation, turn-taking, and sharing!
