We are switching gears in preschool and beginning our Medical Theme! This unit of learning allows our kiddos to use make-believe play to explore the many roles and actions associated with all things medical! We are introducing new roles, including doctor and nurse, and also utilizing roles we have had including mother, father, child, and baby! Our classrooms have transformed into different doctor-related areas including the ER, newborn nursery, pharmacy, eye doctor, and dentist! Our students created props for each of these areas and are able to use these props to enhance their make-believe play. You can find doctors checking our vision, routine dental cleanings, x-rays being taken, and maybe even the ambulance bringing a patient to the ER. Through all of these activities, we are able to foster imaginative play, language development, cooperation, turn-taking, and sharing!
