Rolling right into the Restaurant Theme in preschool! This unit of learning allows our kiddos to use make believe play to explore the many roles and actions associated with a variety of restaurants we find in our town! Our classrooms have transformed into different restaurants from around town, such as a pizza parlor, sit-down restaurant, Jersey Mikes, Dunkin Donuts, and even a McDonalds, complete with a drive through window! Our students created props for each of these areas and are able to use these props to enhance their make believe play. There are waiters and waitresses taking orders in the restaurant, sub sandwiches being made at Jersey Mikes, and fries for everyone in the drive through! All of these activities allow our students to use imaginative play, enhance language development, and work on cooperation, turn taking, and sharing! This unit also incorporates counting and money!
